Installing Global Matriarchy (Take Two)

First Lady Urges Rights for Mideast Women

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer 8 minutes ago

SOUTHERN SHUNEH, Jordan - Laura Bush on Saturday encouraged Middle Eastern leaders to expand women's participation in their societies as she herself took on a new role as an international goodwill ambassador.

yah, for tyrants

After shying from the spotlight in her husband's first term, Mrs. Bush became the face of women taking on larger public roles with a speech to the World Economic Forum' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> World Economic Forum conference on the Middle East.

"became the face of women"

an apt, artificed, and chilling turn of phrase

why bother with journalists when propagandists are so much cheaper?

"Freedom, especially freedom for women, is more than the absence of oppression," she said. "It's the right to speak and vote and worship freely. Human rights require the rights of women."

the more "women's rights" we have endured in America, the less "human rights" everyone -- but most especially boys and men -- has

don't think so? check the stats on who leads the world in arms sales and domestic imprisonment

She said there has been "extraordinary progress" for women in the Middle East, especially since the oppressive Taliban was removed from power in Afghanistan' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> Afghanistan. She said was delighted that Kuwait extended the right to vote to women last week, drawing the singular outburst of applause to interrupt her speech.

ah yes, the "Oppressive Taliban"

no doubt the heart of their oppressiveness was refusal to accept Western matriarchy as their ruling order

Women can now vote in all Middle Eastern nations where elections are held except Saudi Arabia. The Persian Gulf nations of Bahrain, Qatar and Oman all have held their first elections in recent years and have allowed women to cast ballots.

Mrs. Bush is one of the most admired women in the United States, with approval ratings leaps and bounds above her husband's this year. She's using her popularity to extend a friendly face to the Middle East, two months after she made a brief surprise visit to Afghanistan.

behind that "friendly face" is something quite different . . .

With anti-American demonstrators taking to the streets to protest allegations that U.S. interrogators have mistreated Muslim captives, Mrs. Bush stressed her country's religious inclusion. "In the United States, we respect the traditions of all faiths," she said.

there is only one dominant religion in the United States, and it is Womanchurch

and anyone opposing expansion of that church can expect to end up wearing an iron collar in an Abu Ghraib dogpile of "uppity males"

with Denials from the higher-ups all around, to be sure!

She also said she plans to visit holy sites from all three major religions born in the surrounding lands. After her speech she visited Mount Nebo, the site where Moses surveyed the Promised Land and where he later died, according to the Bible.

and did she dance on his grave? and screech in triumph with her lackeys?

did she sacrifice a Muslim boy on the altar of her
precious goddess?

Mrs. Bush spoke at the Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center, a sparkling new structure overlooking the Dead Sea. It was the most high-profile event of a three-nation tour that will include visits to programs that are advancing childhood education and women's roles.

Her appearance came on the second day of a three-day international conference sponsored by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum. It brought together about 1,300 international business and political leaders as well as a few celebrities, such as actor Richard Gere. The forum is best known for its glitzy annual meeting in the Swiss ski resort of Davos.

In some ways, Mrs. Bush was speaking to the choir. She echoed the sentiments of many speakers at the conference and her appearance was not an overwhelming draw, with the auditorium only a little more than half full.

translation: a room half-full of sycophants and paid-attendees

the common folk -- who actually LIVE under these "oppressive patriarchies," won't come within fifty miles of the witch

Mrs. Bush said the Middle East is making strides in improving democracy. She cited recent elections in
Iraq' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> Iraq and the Palestinian territories, democratic demonstrations in Lebanon and elections in nearby Afghanistan.

"Now we are seeing a springtime of hope across the Middle East," she said.

She said she understands that fully inclusive democracy can be slow to develop. "In my country, women didn't secure the right to vote until more than a century after its founding," she said, batting away a pesky fly that repeatedly landed on her face throughout her speech.

you can run but you can't hide, queenie

those little pests will ALWAYS be drawn to cowshit!!

Mrs. Bush said that, besides including women, societies also must expand education for freedom to thrive. "

President Bush' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> President Bush and I want a future of peace and opportunity for our own daughters and for all the world's children," she said.

ok, Peace-and-Opportunity Checklist

let's see:

uh . . . sons?

oh yah, i forgot, the sons are gonna get more of the "peace and opportunity" they've been receiving in the U.S.

no wonder they were Pointedly Unmentioned . . .

In a more private setting, Mrs. Bush also used the conference to push for improvements for children back home. She touted her effort to support at-risk youth in a private meeting with members of Congress also attending the forum, including Republican Sens. John Sununu of New Hampshire, Orrin Hatch of Utah and Gordon Smith of Oregon, and Reps. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., and Jane Harman, D-Calif.

to reiterate for the umpteenth time:

aside from gubbermint plants and other paid emasculates, when honest advocates in the Men's Movement support their beloved right-wing, they are supporting expansion of Western -- and particularly American -- matriarchy to the ends of the planet

the efforts of father's rights groups, men's organizations, and men's activists of all stripes are overwhelmingly MOOT

we're all running twenty laps behind the matriarchy, and while it is busily busily consolidating global control, we're writing letters to our congressmerchants and filing useless lawsuits in the gyno-courts!!

the struggle of the men's movement cannot be piecemeal and local, it is too late for that

and for god's sake, you right-wingers in the movement must STOP facilitating and accellerating this process by stubborn and prideful insistence upon "conservatism"

do you want your sons, and uncounted future generations of men and boys, to live as second-class citizens (and MUCH worse) on a planet controlled by the feminism you have experienced in your own lifetimes?

that is precisely what you are facilitating when you support junior, laura, condo, and all the other evil-angelical psychotics dominating the American Right

Rice Commends Kuwait on Giving Women Vote

By ANNE GEARAN, AP Diplomatic Writer 57 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Secretary of State

Condoleezza Rice' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> Condoleezza Rice congratulated Kuwait on Thursday for granting women the right to vote and said the conservative state can be a political model for the Middle East.

Kuwait's parliament extended political rights to Kuwaiti women Monday, but religious fundamentalists who opposed women's suffrage succeeded in attaching a clause requiring future female politicians and voters to abide by Islamic law.

It was not clear whether that meant a strict dress code or just separate polling stations and election campaigns.

"It is a historic decision. It is a courageous decision," Rice said after a meeting with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheik Mohammed Al Sabah.

"With the empowerment of women, societies are complete.

read that one again and weep, my Muslim brethren, for the Beast is unto your door, and you have bowed before her riches and her rod

"And now as Kuwait moves toward other reforms, it will do so with its entire population active in that process."

she brings MANY ancillary "reforms"

Al Sabah noted that it took six years to get the suffrage bill through Parliament. The change will take effect with the 2007 parliamentary elections.

"Thank God, now all Kuwaitis are participating in the shaping of the future of our society," he said.

Islamic conservatives called the law a "bombshell" and accused the government of bowing to foreign pressure.

and scraping! don't forget scraping!!

They believe women's participation in politics contradicts Islam's teachings and complain it will allow women to mix freely with men.

Women can now vote in all Middle Eastern nations where elections are held except Saudi Arabia. The Persian Gulf nations of Bahrain, Qatar and Oman all have held their first elections in recent years and have allowed women to cast ballots.

"I have a lot of confidence that our Kuwaiti allies are looking hard at how Kuwait in its continued opening and liberalization of its politics can be a very important model for what else can be done" in the region, Rice said.

i think my fellow-advocates in the men's movement -- especially the conservative wing (the vast majority of the movement) needs to acknowledge exactly WITCH administration's bitch-hound is travelling the globe, shoving American gyneocracy down the throats of other nations

it ain't the "libberal, marxist, pansy" branch of politics -- it's your beloved CONSERVATIVES who are hawking feminism around the planet, like P.T. Barnum at a Rube-fest!

you boys are backin the rong pony in this race -- time to fess up and stop propagandizing for the Adversary

Birds Attack Zoo, Hitchcock in Hysterics

HOUSTON - Like a scene from the horror movie "The Birds," large black grackles are swooping down on downtown Houston and attacking people's heads, hair and backs.

Authorities closed off a sidewalk after the aggressive birds which can have 2-foot wingspans flew out of magnolia trees Monday in front of the County Administration Building.

and they say birds cant talk!

notice they werent divebombing homeless folks:

"County Administration Building"

"They were just going crazy," said constable Wilbert Jue, who works at the building. "They were attacking everybody that walked by."

The grackles zeroed in on a lawyer who shooed a birdaway before he tripped and injured his face, Jue said. The lawyer was treated for several cuts.

i filed suit today at the County Administration Building on behalf of the torted concrete

we are requesting emotional damages

It appears that the birds are protecting their offspring.

duh, and be thankful they arent blackbirds

On Monday a young grackle had fallen out of its nest and adult birds attacked people who got too close, Jue said. Another bird attacked a deputy county clerk.

i shot the sheriff but i did not kill the deputy

"I hit him with a bottle," said Sylvia Velasquez. "The other birds came, and one attacked my blouse and on my back."

Two women came to help her after she fell to the ground, and the birds attacked them as well. The group escaped by running into the building.

welp, if one "owns" monkeys on govt installations (see GO MONKEY GO!!!! post below) then one also assumes one owns birds

next time y'all might not be so lucky

perhaps the birds are voting for a change in County Administration, hmm?

"This is a very Hitchcock kind of story. Very Tippi Hedren," said downtown worker Laura Aranda Smith, referring to one of the stars of Alfred Hitchcock's move "The Birds."

yah, except them oozing nicks on your noggins ain't ketchup!

yo Mizz Redhen -- best duck!!

sounds like inter-species warfare...

For the past few years, the great-tailed grackles have attacked people in the late spring, said Jue, who works in the building. The great-tailed grackles are native to Mexico and South Texas but have spread to Houston, Burkett said. The males have long tails and are black with an iridescent sheen. They are 15-18 inches long and have a wingspan of 15-25 inches.

Information from: Houston Chronicle http://www.houstonchronicle.com/

more grackles, less County Administrators, sounds like A Plan

Bluebird came to me tonight
Waiting patiently for light
She said I know that you will grieve
But my darlin' I must leave

Why do they say -- Bluebird is dead?
I can still see her
touch her
my Bluebird!
The love that she gave
I don't believe no no, I don't believe

Bluebird say it is not so
Please I cannot hear you speak
It must be that you're so tired
In the darkness of the night

Why do they say -- Bluebird is dead?
I can still see her
touch her
my Bluebird!
the love that she gave
I don't believe no no, I don't believe

Boys Failing, System is Fine

from the British Guardian Unlimited, via AH at

Exam results reveal gender gulf in schools Study proves boys lag far behind girls nationwide Amelia Hill, education correspondent

Sunday May 15, 2005 The Observer

The shocking extent of under-achievement by boys in some of Britain's leading schools has been revealed in a report which for the first time shows the huge differences in the performance of girls and boys across the country.

The report, which breaks down the A-level results of 1,500 schools, both state and independent, by gender, shows schools where girls are up to 115 per cent more likely to achieve an A or B grade than boys.

'This data shows there are schools that seem to be educating their students to a very high level, but which actually need to be making a major effort to get their boys up to scratch,' said Ralph Lucas, editor of the Good Schools Guide, which requested the data from the Department for Education and Skills under the Freedom of Information Act.

In 71 per cent of the 122 independent schools surveyed, girls gained more A and B grades than boys in their 2004 A-levels. Girls achieved more than 10 per cent better results than boys in one in five schools, with some of the best establishments in the country showing the widest differences: in Marlborough College, for example, just 73 per cent of boys got A and B grades compared to 93 per cent of girls.

'Parents should take this new information into account when choosing a school for their boys because this problem will definitely affect their own sons' performances,' said Lucas.

In the 1,132 state schools surveyed, girls achieved better than boys in 74 per cent of cases, achieving over 10 per cent better results in 43 per cent of schools.

The figures will reignite the debate on the performance of boys and girls in school. Although girls have regularly outperformed boys in GCSEs and A-levels, it has not been shown before how big the gap between the genders was.

In the most extreme case, City College in Birmingham, girls were 115 per cent more likely to achieve an A or B grade than boys. In London's Kidbrooke School, where Jamie Oliver recently transformed the lunchtime menu, just 15 per cent of boys achieved the top grade compared to 35 per cent of girls.

'It is very hard to pin down the exact reason for the disparity in results but I don't think there's anything more we can do,' said Leslie Clark, headteacher at Edgehill College, Bideford, north Devon.

no, it's easy, actually, assuming yr gonads are still intact

apparently you took your gender-ambiguous name a bit too literally

lemme help you with that bobbie pinning down, Lez

the reason boys are regressing academically and socially is the feminized education in matriarchal societies which you obviously champion -- a few decades of v heavy anti-male propaganda and second-class-citizenship, combined with "masculine" "leadership" exemplified by your pathetic self

'We give all our students exactly the same support.

that's a lie, we both know it, and much more importantly, the BOYS in YOUR SCHOOL KNOW IT, DON'T LIKE IT, and THINK YOU SUCK for it

they're not gonna learn manhood from you, because you haven't found yours yet

their collective inferiority as males in western culture has seeped like poison potion into their very leptons and quarks

nice going, dood -- how much they payin you?

'The only reason I can think of is that this school has a history of attracting academic, high-flying girls,' he added. 'Perhaps we do not have boys of quite that calibre yet.'

fuck off, lackey pig

you're the one "flying high," like a man-monkey on a skyleash

Professor Tony Henry, principal at the City College in Birmingham, where 28 girls and no boys got an A or B at A-level last year, blames the local culture.

'We have three buildings dedicated to women-only education in Birmingham and boys have now become the problem instead,' he said. 'We are trying to re-engage boys through vocational and activity-based courses but we are fighting against a heady local cocktail of male unemployment and an extreme drug culture.'

close, no cigar

But Malcolm Trobe, headteacher at Malmesbury School in Wiltshire, rejects the data. 'There is not a significant difference between the genders if you look at the value-added results: we are getting more boys coming into sixth form with low prior achievement compared to girls,' he said.

'Instead of saying we should be getting more boys staying on in education, we should be ensuring we are getting them on the right path for them,' he added. 'Of the boys who do take A-levels here, we don't have many dropping out, while the boys who choose vocational paths instead tend to do very well too, suggesting both cohorts are making the correct decisions for them.'

"Professional Triplespeak"

At the £11,000-a-year selective, private City of London Freeman's School in Ashtead, Surrey, just 47 per cent of boys achieved A and B grades compared to 81 per cent of girls. Headteacher David Haywood believes this is to do with the intrinsic ability of boys rather than the school's educational ethos.

Kent College in Canterbury is one of the very few schools where boys do better, with 65 per cent getting an A or B compared to 55 per cent of girls. Head Gina Carminati said the improvements follow a recent change in teaching styles. 'We now spend time with each pupil, focusing on their personal learning styles and setting them individual, challenging, lesson-by-lesson targets,' he said.

Monkey Escapes From S.C. Island Laboratory

Sun May 8, 6:43 PM ET

BEAUFORT, S.C. - An escapee from Morgan Island has been captured in a tree in the backyard of a home on Lady's Island — about 7 miles away from where he was supposed to be.

"Lady's Island"???

most folks just call it "Earth"

The 10-year-old, 20-pound male rhesus monkey was first noticed as missing from the island April 30, the same time residents of Coosaw and Lady's islands reported seeing him. Some residents were concerned the animal might carry an infectious disease because Morgan Island houses primates used in government research.

ONE MONKEY terrifies these people?

shitfire, poor leetle guy would be more likely to catch something nasty from THEM!

no doubt he's an EVILDOER, tho, and the pristine residents can't be too careful about Securing The Homeland

Alpha Genesis officials said they can't explain how the monkey managed to leave the island laboratory and make its way across Parrot Creek.

all them fancy gubbermint noggins put together, and they can't figure how one "lower primate" escaped their clutches!

hey, "Alphas": here's a clue: MOTIVATION

p.s. -- sounds like you've got some competition for "alpha" status

"I have been here eight years and this is the first (escape) I can remember in the area," said Greg Westergaard, president and chief executive officer of Alpha Genesis. "I'm at a loss at how it got over there. They probably can swim a little bit, but it really is a long way over there."

The monkeys have been on the island since 1979 and are the property of the Food and Drug Administration' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> Food and Drug Administration. They are used in defense and vaccine development studies.

yah, i'll bet they are

and oh, btw -- he ain't YOUR "property," and before this Show is over, you are going to learn it

The escaped monkey was caught Tuesday, Westergaard said. "I'm sure he wanted to get back but couldn't figure out how," he said.

o my god in hevvun . . .

you're "sure he wanted to get back" ?!?!?!

yo Greg, tell true now: you're a Quota Hire, yes?

he was fucking FLEEING from you and your fellow Experimentors!!!

sure Greggie, i'll bet he was sitting in Starbucks there on Lady Island, scritchin' his wee shaved head, just frantic with frustration at how to return to your Team

But the escapee won't be going back to the 400-acres colony on Morgan Island. Instead, he'll probably be taken to one of two breeding facilities in Yemassee or Early Branch, Westergaard said.

see? initiative pays! obviously he's a cut above the rest

in the Planetary Interest, Greggie, i think ya otta save him for yerself, and breed him with your wife

at least he's got a healthy thirst for freedom, which is more than i can say for the "residents" of , uh, "Lady's Island"

Westergaard said it was unlikely the monkey would have a disease because the research performed on the animals isn't done at the island. The monkeys also go through physical examinations four times a year to make sure they are healthy and carry no diseases, he said.

"This monkey's in great shape," he said.

He said there are no artificial barriers keeping the monkeys on the island other than the water surrounding it, as they tend to be social creatures and stay with other monkeys.

"I don't know what happened to this guy," Westergaard said.

ok, i give up, i'm officially washing my hands of our species . . .

The Macho Men of the Mob

NY doctors charged with giving Viagra to the mob

By Gail Appleson Thu May 5, 1:58 PM ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Three New York doctors were charged on Thursday with giving large amounts of Viagra and other anti-impotence drugs to mob members in return for construction and auto repair work done by mafia-controlled businesses.

Arlen Fleisher, Stephen Klass and George Shapiro, all doctors in Westchester County, a suburban area north of New York City, were accused of trading prescription drugs and drug samples with members and associates of the Gambino crime family. The one-count complaint was filed in Manhattan federal court.

Lawyers for all three defendants said their clients denied wrongdoing.
If convicted, the men could face a maximum 10-year prison term. They were arrested at their homes on Thursday morning and released after each posted a $50,000 bond.

In addition to Viagra, the doctors are accused of giving out Cialis, Levitra and other prescription drugs. According to court papers, Gambino members used the drugs and also gave them to others. In one instance, a high-ranking member of the Gambino crime family asked Klass to get him the cholesterol-lowering drug
Lipitor' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> Lipitor for his barber, court papers said.
Federal prosecutors said no value has been publicly stated for the value of the pharmaceuticals that were traded.

Richard Herman, a lawyer for Shapiro, told reporters his client denies the charges. Herman also said Shapiro has a "pristine" record as a cardiologist and no criminal record.

Shapiro had been treating Gregory DePalma, who prosecutors say is a powerful "captain" in the Gambino family, for a heart condition, Herman said.

DePalma was indicted for racketeering in March along with the acting Gambino boss and other members and associates of the organized crime family. The charges against the doctors grew out of the investigation into Gambino family activities.

The complaint said that by the end of the
FBI' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> FBI's probe, "DePalma was running a virtual pharmacy for his associates as a result of the large quantity of prescription drugs and drug samples" that he received from the three doctors.

"He (Shapiro) never had those drugs in the first place, so he couldn't have given them out," Herman said.

Robert Wolf, one of the lawyers representing Fleisher, said it is an accepted practice among doctors to give patients samples.

"This is a message to the medical profession. Don't treat Italians," he told reporters. "This is rampant and accepted in the medical profession, unless your patient is Italian."

now, this one's a REAL head-shaker!

these punks strut around like badasses, breaking peoples' bones, extorting, thieving, murdering etc

they're glorifed by the public/popular culture as some sort of pinnacle of "powerful manhood" -- despite the fact that they always pick on the weak, old, and helpless

yet they can't even get their own dicks hard without popping pills!

i guess we now know WHY these goons are so addicted to violence: it fills the void of their pathetic (non)sexuality, covering up their essential male inadequacies

i say give 'em all the Dickhard they want, free -- maybe they'll find a new hobby and let us have our country back

California's toughest prison fights notorious image

By Adam Tanner Thu May 5, 9:54 AM ET

CRESCENT CITY, Calif. (Reuters) - Goldwire Jackson long embodied a prison guard's worst nightmare -- an inmate who brutally assaulted officers, destroyed prison property and repeatedly removed his clothes to masturbate near others.

Today, officials call Jackson a success story at Pelican Bay, California's top-security prison in the far northwest of the state, a facility a 1996
United Nations' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> United Nations report called "inhuman and degrading."
"I didn't know how to deal with my frustration," Jackson, 35, said about his 58 offenses behind bars in a 5-year period.

"Some people are psychologically strong enough to deal with the conditions and others are not. It didn't drive me insane; it just stressed me out beyond belief."

Imprisoned on robbery charges, Jackson has spent many of his 14 years behind bars at Pelican Bay's controversial "supermax" prison within a prison. Inmates are kept in cells for all but about 90 minutes a day, when they exercise alone.

gee, that IS progressive!

A decade ago in what is known as the Madrid case, U.S. federal Judge Thelton Henderson found that Pelican Bay guards routinely violated inmate rights and he has monitored conditions ever since. Only last year, he threatened to take over California prisons because of concern officials were blocking investigations into allegations of abuses by guards at Pelican Bay, which opened in 1989.

"A lot of what happened I think early on in the prison was simply a question of, you know, rushing to opening, not having procedures and policies in place to deal with what, at the time, and still, is a very violent population," said Peter Siggins, California Gov
Arnold Schwarzenegger' name=c1> SEARCHNews News Photos Images Web' name=c3> Arnold Schwarzenegger's legal affairs secretary,

"Approximately 50 percent of the staff that was there when they opened did not have prior experience. So there were just a lot of things that kind of came together and made for a real rocky road the first six or eight years."

right, Petey! "poor procedures" are to blame, not the Prison Mentality of our Morally Superior nation

really, it's only a question of becoming more Professionlly Insane...

Officials say they have since fixed many of the early problems and point to the prison's special unit for violent inmates suffering from psychological problems.

"We're much more professional than we used to be," said Capt. Cara Patten, who oversees the psychological units. "The most marked thing that is different with the Madrid decision is that we are providing mental health care to inmates," she said.

Access to care is vital because of the severe isolation of 1,100 inmates at the supermax facility, experts say.

"The problem with Pelican Bay ... is that there is no hope," said Terry Kupers, author of "Prison Madness: The Mental Health Crisis Behind Bars and What We Must Do About It." "The despair just increases the other psychological problems."

Goldwire Jackson is one of 64 inmates in the Psychiatric Services Unit. He is kept alone in a bleak concrete cell with pictures of women in bikinis posted on his walls.

sounds entirely conducive to good mental health to me

i mean, dear god, ninety minutes of free air each and every day, what more do these whiners expect?

"You're standing between the two most hostile units in the state of California," Patten said as she showed off the area. "These inmates are not being tortured. They like it here."

see Big Mama standing Tall over the dogs in her Pound!

they LIKE it there, don't you understand? why, folks from the surrounding counties are purt near pounding at the gates for admittance!

sure makes me feel safer!

Just minutes later guards wheeled out a dazed, handcuffed and shackled prisoner who had cut his wrist.

well, whatta coincidence: the Program is working!

and they say the Goddess is dead ...

The prison wing's design seeks to lessen violence. Pelican Bay offers group therapy sessions but places the men in individual phone booth-sized cages. "They have to be separated otherwise they will kill each other," Patten said.

She said violence had fallen dramatically in recent years. "The major difference -- and I'm not going to downplay it -- is medication," she said, adding that television in cells also helped. TV "is a good babysitter, it really is. They are not focusing their anger on us."

well, they should be -- and on your hypocritical and profiteering System too

and the fact that they're not is a sign of their true hopelessness, capitulation, and terrible "mental health"

Jackson had long resisted medication. He was even charged with threatening a judge during a prison hearing on the issue. He said he was concerned about the absence of an American flag in the prison courtroom.

yah, but the Jolly Roger's Skull and Crossbones was up and hanging proud

Yet he is now able to offer a cogent explanation of his past behavior and says he is less violent and does not hear voices any more. However his bodybuilding frame has softened as well.

"That could be part sexual frustration and an attention getter," he said about his episodes of public masturbation. "It's the reaction that really kind of tripped me out."

Patten said she may soon move Jackson to a less-isolated section for less-violent inmates with mental health issues. A Navy veteran from Delaware who was imprisoned starting 14 years ago, Jackson is scheduled to be released from prison in 2007.

As for Pelican Bay's legal woes, experts say the worst has passed. In November, Judge Henderson commended the California Department of Corrections for working to improve conditions.

Roderick Hickman, secretary of the California Youth and Adult Correctional Agency, recently said the judge's threat to take control of California's prisons -- something that has happened before in states such as Texas -- has passed.

"I don't believe he's going to intervene. I think we've been successful in providing the right kind of management and leadership in the remedial planning process," he said.

but who's gonna remediate you, Fatboy?

forever is a long time
